Huish Outdoors has recalled about 7,200 Hollis 200LX second stage diving regulators in the United States because the regulator inlet tube can crack and break, creating a risk of serious injury or death from drowning.
The July 16, 2026, recall also covers about 370 units sold in Canada. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Huish Outdoors has received 17 reports of the inlet tube breaking, with no injuries reported.
Do this first
- Stop using the recalled regulator immediately.
- Do not take it on another dive while checking the serial number.
- Return the regulator to an authorized Hollis dealer for a free repair, or contact Huish Outdoors for mail-return instructions.
How to identify the regulator
The recall covers Hollis 200LX second stage diving regulators, which are black and red and made of plastic and metal. “200LX” and “Hollis” are engraved on the top of the regulator, according to the CPSC notice.
The serial number is under the mouthpiece. The affected serial ranges are C3753 through C77735, S73202 through S8442, HA00001 through HA14873 and LX001698 through LX009896.
Where they were sold
The recalled regulators were sold at diving supply stores nationwide from May 2017 through February 2026 for about $330. The importer is Huish Outdoors, LLC, of Salt Lake City, Utah.
What to check next
Divers should use the CPSC notice or Hollis recall page to confirm the serial number before relying on a trip checklist, reseller listing or older gear record. Dive shops can also help identify the product and arrange the repair process.
If a regulator shows damage or behaved unusually during a prior dive, keep it out of service and contact an authorized dealer or Huish Outdoors before using it again. For any urgent dive-safety or medical concern, follow emergency guidance rather than waiting for a recall response.
