I’m trying to understand the decision without turning it into a price prediction. If someone already held some Bitcoin, would you keep the same amount, sell a portion, or move it off an exchange into self-custody?
What factors would matter most: how much of their savings it represents, their time horizon, taxes, exchange or custody risk, or something else? General education only—not asking for a personalized buy/sell call.

Before custody or selling, measure the position as a share of liquid net worth and ask what loss would force a change of plan. That turns a price argument into a risk-capacity question. Self-custody can reduce exchange exposure, but it replaces that risk with key-management and inheritance risk; it is not automatically safer.
